Club Hockey Seniors Take the Ice One Final Time

The Roger Williams Club Hockey team celebrated the final regular season game of seven graduating seniors last Saturday night.
Before the Hawks faced the Connecticut College Camels, a ceremony was held on the ice, celebrating each individual senior.
Anthony Birolini, Mitch Farrell, Vaughan Marecki, Kam Pierce, Cedric Savoie, William Burke and Jack Woods were all individually recognized and all presented their parents with a rose.
Once the celebration ended, the game began. It was a rough start for the Hawks, who had to play from behind the whole way.
Unfortunately for the team, their luck did not turn around. The Hawks ended up losing the game 7-1, bringing their regular season to a close.
This loss bumped them down to second place in the league. Going into this game they were in first place, but the RWU loss allowed the Camels to overtake the lead in the league.
After the game, we were able to speak to two of the players, Jack Woods and Sean O’Rourke, about their time on the team, and for Woods, a Senior, what he loves the most about his team.
For the players , it’s more about a love of the game; it’s also about making those lifelong friends that will stick with you after your time on the ice is done.
